Hi, I’m Ankur Sethi. Nice to meet you, anonymous person. Yeah, I missed you too.
Me? I’m an 18 year old Cocoa and C++ (mostly the Haiku API, some Qt) programmer living in New Delhi, India. I have also fooled around with Ruby, Perl, PHP, Common Lisp, Haskell and Factor for a while, but never enough to actually build something. One of these days, my friend, one of these days …
I support Free Software, but I don’t mind commercial software. I support FOSS because of its technical merits, not because I believe in the One True Way of RMS. In a drunken brawl between RMS and Linus Torvalds, I’ll bet my money on Linus because he maintains a much more rational stance on licensing issues.
A great man (read: me) once said that a man’s character can be accurately judged from the kind of computer he uses. I use a white MacBook as my primary computer and Mac OS X as my primary OS, which means I’m awesome. I also have a custom built PC and a Dell Vostro 1520, both of which dual boot with Linux and Haiku. My microwave runs FreeBSD and my toaster runs QNX. My dinner fork, unfortunately, still runs Windows 98. I haven’t been able to upgrade it owing to DRM issues.
I sometimes go to college. I’m a first second year student at Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology, a private college affiliated to IPU.
